Art Attack # 1

Keith Hoyle saved my life by calling 911 for an ambulance in May of 2001. I was rushed to the hospital, had a heart attack and have now made an incredible recovery. This recovery is an ongoing process and I'm trying new strategies to stay healthy and enjoy life. These "Art Attack " entries are part of my health strategy.

Art Attack # 2

"Heart Art", uses creative visualization to improve heart health. As I paint I think about my heart and how it is getting stronger. Most of the time I think about colour and layout and enjoy the music playing on my small studio sound system. I relax and think back to earlier times.

Art Attack # 3

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, green is the colour of the relaxed and health heart. During my acupuncture treatments my practicioner always asks my to think of green healing light. In this image I surround the green light with the oxygen filled red of blood. Relax and let go.

Thinking of Elvis Presley

This is one of my lino cut prints. The banjo print was used to advertise the songs of Stephen Foster. The presentation featured his songs and stories. You know Foster for "Oh Susanna", "Camptown Races", and many other enduring songs.

If Elvis Presley had learned to play the banjo he would be alive today. You would not have heard of him but he would be still kicking. "Still kicking" is the important euphemism.

In the Garden

Jim came over to join Susan and me for this picture. We played the music for the CD "Now it's called Princeton" by Jon Bartlett and Rika Ruebsaat. The picture appears on the inside cover. Susan played the piano, Jim played the guitar and I played the banjo and the bass.

It was a fabulous experience and the CD is worth a listen. You can pick one up at the museum and archives in Princeton B.C.
